Born in México City in 1974, Saldivar relocated to the city of Monterrey, in Northern México in 1992. Saldivar holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM) and postgraduate studies in Manufacturing Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology Graduate School of Engineering.

Saldivar started his career in Corporación EG in 1996, as head of the Research & Development department of Ruhrpumpen México. In 1999, he became founding shareholder and General Manager of EG Product Engineering Solutions, which eventually became Northam Engineering. Saldivar lead the company to become the largest Mexican independent engineering and project management firm in the Oil & Gas sector.

Foster Wheeler acquired Northam Engineering, in May 2013, with Saldivar taking his present appointment as General Director and Country Manager of what is now Amec Foster Wheeler México.
