Kevin took up his current position in August 2016. He has almost thirty years’ international experience, nearly all of which has been with the British Council.

He has spent his career on three continents: Europe (Spain and Italy), Asia (Burma, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Sri Lanka) and the Americas (Mexico and Venezuela). He holds a bachelor’s degree in German from the University of Lancaster and a master’s in Applied Linguistics from the University of Hong Kong.

Having started as a teacher, Kevin went on to run some of the largest teaching operations in the British Council network. His most recent experience was as Director Burma (2012 – 2016), in which he led the British Council in supporting Burma’s transition to democracy following fifty years of military rule.

He is honoured to have been appointed Director of the British Council in Mexico. He is looking forward to building on the British Council’s success so far in creating friendly knowledge and understanding between Mexico and the UK.
